Welcome !

Welcome to Troop 15. We are one of the oldest troops in San Francisco, having been founded in 1938 by Ed McFadden. Troop 15 is sponsored by St. Anne's Church. Boys of all religious backgrounds are welcome. Troop 15 seeks to develop the mental, physical, and leadership potential of its boys and young men focusing on the 4 aims of scouting: character development, citizenship training, personal fitness, and leadership development. The troop strives to train its boys so that they can fulfill leadership positions within the troop, with the ultimate goal of having a "boy run" troop, with adults serving as advisors and insuring that the national standards of safety and appropriate activity are maintained. We have 30 registered scouts and provide activities for all interests to include service projects, community support, leadership training, camping, hiking and backpacking. If you do not have an account and are a member of Troop 15, please e-mail the WebMaster for an account at WebMaster@sanfrancisco15.mytroop.us.

Troop 15 Update – Monday, July 13th, 2026 Updates: Camp Royaneh Day 2

from Mr. Phil Page, c to v

The scouts woke to morning reveille at 7 am. It got chilly overnight, but the weather would soon warm up. ASMs from all comsites were drawn to the dining hall for morning coffee. Bosco, Brian, Iam and waiters for breakfast and arrived promptly. The troop arrived early for flag raising. We had breakfast of french toast, sausage patties (just 1 to start Mikey) and orange juice. After breakfast scouts dispersed to there classes. Mr Page made a quick trip to the barn to work on a pewter and caught a mule with his belt. The task was to catch a horse or mule with a halter and some other object. I think Mr. Phillips told me you could use a belt to catch a horse so points to him for the tip. Next up was the camp fire drill (thankfully out was just a drill). All scouts arrived promptly and were accounted for. As we met for the drill we all realized that Mr. Hourihan and the other alumni had arrived at camp. Lunch was make your own sandwiches and macaroni salad. After lunch it was off to more classes. I found Brendan at the ATVs driving in circles counter clockwise. He says tomorrow they will go clockwise. I saw Ian and Eduardo over at search and rescue and they look very focused so I took a picture and continued on. I ran into Andy at the cooking merit badge class where they were doing menu planning. It didn't make for an exciting photo so I'll be back tomorrow to get some action photos! I swung by the COPE class (ropes course) where I saw Brian working with the other scouts on some challenges. Dinner was chicken Alfredo which I'll just a say wasn't a proper al dente, but there was garlic bread which was very good and some steamed broccoli and ice cream for dessert! In the evening, Nathan, Tommy, Ruk, Bria, Andy, Julian, and Mr. Levesque headed to Baden Powell campfire which is for first time campers at Royaneh. They learned the camp song, watched some skits and performed in some skits. I had mixed reports on the severity of the mosquitos. Mr, Page and Evan headed to riflery where Evan achieved several more targets towards his merit badge. Mr. Page attempted another activity for his American Cowboy Pewter. It was a simple task, put 15 of 20 shots into some shapes on a special target. this was after 7 pm and, well, the shapes could not be seen. Mr. Silva will appreciate this as a "best guess Mr. Sulu" situation. 7 of 10 on the first 10 shots, but it got darker and worse from there. I'll be back with Evan gain tomorrow as he works on closing out that rifler. 8:45 it was back to campfire. Toby and a Scout from troop 642 co MC'd. There were skits and mafia and many things none of the adults could understand. Now it was time for the main event. Mr. Hourihan quieted the rowdy crowd as he bean his story, a science fiction story by Ray Bradbury. He was interrupted twice by bugle calls but the scouts silently waiting for the bugle to end and the story to continue. The program ended with the scout benediction. If you don't know it, it goes like this. "May the Great Scoutmaster of all Scouts be with us until we meet again.

Troop 15 Update – Sunday, July 12th, 2026 Updates: Camp Royaneh Day 1

Report out from Mr. Phil Page ASM:

We started out from St Annes around 9:30. Traffic was light and we made good time. The only delays we encountered were some one way sections on river road due to some long running road repairs. We arrived at camp around 11:30 and they let us in early. Cars were unloaded and we started bringing things to camp. Eduardo joined us in the parking lot and we now had our full contingent of 3 adults and 15 scouts. We had some time to relax at camp before our Staff Troop guide arrived to show us around, Our guide was none other than our very own Darby Powell! We toured the camp and completed our swim tests. It was so warm that we all readily jumped into the 60 degree water. Mikey is already planning to crush the 1m swim and Alec rocked some butterfly stroke during his test.
